ColoServe Sponsors FreeBSD 10th Anniversary Party
San Francisco, CA- December 10, 2003 — ColoServe, the premier San Francisco Colocation provider, is proud to be a sponsor of the FreeBSD operating system 10th Anniversary party.
Hundreds of FreeBSD programmers, system administrators, and advocates from around the world recently gathered together in San Francisco to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the stable and reliable FreeBSD operating system.
ColoServe's parent company, ServePath, offers 4 different varieties of FreeBSD on its dedicated hosting solutions, from FreeBSD 4.8 to 5.1. Many people choose FreeBSD for its stability and security, though Linux has received most of the attention recently paid to open source operating systems. FreeBSD is an advanced operating system derived from BSD UNIX, the version of UNIX developed at the University of California, Berkeley. FreeBSD offers advanced networking, performance, and security features.
“We are proud to be a sponsor of this event and the FreeBSD project,” said John Keagy, President of ColoServe. “Some of our most technically sophisticated customers use FreeBSD to run web hosting operations and high traffic web sites, so we are excited to be a part of this milestone event.”
Other sponsors of the party included Yahoo, Juniper Networks, OffMyServer, FreeBSD Mall and the DNA lounge. ServePath designed and produced the FreeBSD 10th Anniversary T-Shirts given away at the event, and is offering free shirts to new customers who purchase dedicated servers with the FreeBSD operating system.
